Harcum HighlightsLittle Theatre Restoration
The Little Theatre is closer to its grand re-opening thanks to a $100,000 matching grant offered by an anonymous donor. All gifts to help restore this beautiful, historic facility given between now and June 30, 2010 will be matched, dollar-for-dollar. Meeting this challenge grant will complete the funding for the project, enabling construction to begin over the summer. In December 2009, a law was passed allowing the administration of local anesthesia by licensed dental hygienists in Pennsylvania. Licensed hygienists who successfully complete a 30 hour minimum local anesthesia course (click here for a course fact sheet) will be qualified to apply for a local anesthesia permit from the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry. | Online GivingWe are pleased to report that since the $100,000 match was announced on May 17, the Harcum community has been rising to the challenge! All proceeds provide scholarships to worthy students! The Harcum Fund is enormously important to the welfare of the College. Money raised through it fills the gap between the College's operating expenses and the revenue generated by tuition. If Harcum were to depend solely upon tuition for its revenue base, the opportunity for higher education would be beyond the financial grasp of a significant percentage of students. It is for this reason that private institutions depend on a generations-old tradition which seeks philanthropic support from alumni who themselves were supported by the philanthropy of the alumni who preceded them.
